Would you like to earn rewards for your business purchases?
An American Express® Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card is a great way to earn rewards for your business purchases.
While other reward type programs are availble, such as avios, unlike other loyalty programmes, you can spend your American Express membership points on almost anything.
We recommend this particular card; it is free for the first 12-months and £140 per year thereafter.
Assuming your business spends £5,000 per year and even if you were to redeeming the points least efficiently (paying towards purchases & Amazon redemption), the card would pay for itself.
The most efficient use of your reward points is always likely to be redeemed against travel.
Before you consider applying for such a card, we do recommend:
- Checking that your preferred retailers accept American Express, most do.
- Pay the credit card off with your business bank account
- Paying off the credit card in full each month to avoid any interest charges
- Connecting your card to your accounting software such as QuickBooks
If you would like to apply for an American Express® Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card, use the button below to earn 32,000 Membership Rewards points if you spend £3,000 in the first three months of Cardmembership.
That’s enough for a £140 Amazon gift card or almost enough for one return economy flight to Dubai with Virgin Atlantic (40,000 reward points)
Earn rewards with your personal purchases as well.
Maximise your reward points by using a reward card for your personal purchases as well.
We recommend using the free American Express® Rewards Credit Card.
The key benefit to using two separate cards are avoiding cross over between your personal and business transactions.
Before you consider applying for such a card, we do recommend:
- Check that your preferred retailers accept American Express, most do.
- Paying off the credit card in full each month to avoid any interest charges
- Pay the credit card off with your personal bank account
- Consider applying for a supplementary card for your partner
If you would like to apply for an American Express® Rewards Credit Card, use the button below to earn 12,000 Membership Rewards points if you spend more than £2,000 in the first three months of Cardmembership.
That’s enough for a £50 Amazon gift card or almost enough for one return economy flight to Rome with British Airways (16,500 reward points)
As an added benefit, credit card transactions are more secure.
Section 75 is an important UK consumer protection law made in the 1970s that means your credit provider must take the same responsibility as the retailer if things go wrong with a purchase.
This isn’t the credit provider being nice. It’s legal protections put in place so that you’re never in the position of paying off debt for something you didn’t receive or wasn’t as it should’ve been.
Whether it’s a flight, kitchen, computer or anything else, pay on a credit card, store card or with store instalment credit, and the credit provider’s responsible too.
Section 75 covers purchases made on credit over £100 and up to £30,000. So a car costing £40,000 wouldn’t be covered. Nor would a camera costing exactly £100 (but it would if it cost £100.01).
